Challenging Brass, 2026

Not sure what to do this Sunday? How about popping along to Addlestone Community Centre to support us in an entertainment contest? Here are the details…

Four brass bands are to meet in this year’s Challenging Brass, the annual ‘friendly’ brass band entertainment contest. Richmond Brass Band will compete against Pangbourne Band (conducted by Stewart Lewins), Staines Lammas Band (Tariq Ahmed) and Yiewsley & West Drayton Band (Chris Cole).

Each of the four participating bands will perform a half-hour ‘entertainment’ programme of its own choice except that the set test march, ‘Montreal Citadel’, chosen by this year’s distinguished adjudicator, Dr Nick Grace OBE (formerly Principal Director of Music, Royal
Marines), must be included.

Tickets £10 from Addlestone Community Centre on the day.

Come and enjoy a great afternoon from 4 wonderful brass bands!
